Advanced Module Development

Module development and contributing to Drupal. This would be a 45 min talk with demo of how to develop modules on top of drupal and contribute and maintain it.

AGENDA:

* Drupal hook system and API (1-2 mins)
* How to plan a module and define requirements (admin req, user req, UI req, Db req, integration with other drupal moudles) (2-3 mins)
* Step-by-step developing of the module. Related files at different stages of development would be ready. Major hooks and things like schema API, form API, ahah API, help module, integration with views etc to be discussed. Tips, tricks and scripts for faster development (30 mins)
* How to contribute the module and best practices for maintaining one. (10 mins)

GOALS:

Intended audience:people with at least end user familiarity with Drupal or developers interested in starting to use the Drupal platform. The audience would benefit by seeing how easy and fun it is developing for durpal. Learn some useful tricks. Hopefully help us see more contribution to drupal from India.
